• The SHSAT exam is given usually in the fall of your child's 8th grade year. This test is necessary for your child if they would like to attend one of the specialized high schools (Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Bronx High School of Science, Staten Island Technical High School, HSMSE, The High School of American Studies at Lehman, The Brooklyn Latin School, and Queens HS for the Sciences).
• The spring of your child's 7th grade year is the perfect time for your child to start their prep for this exam.
